Intermediate Korean Course
This course is created for Korean learners who have been learning for awhile. You can make sentences easily, know all the basics, and are working on learning intermediate level grammar.

Lesson #s: 22 lessons
Course Length: 8 weeks
Hours of Guided Instruction: 12 hours total (45 minute class, 2x a week)
* you don’t have to be present at every class - Information is recorded and can be viewed at any time after class ends.
*class every Friday and Sunday afternoon EST (times posted at the very end)
Self-Guided Learning Hours: 3 hours total (30 minutes per lesson)
Asynchronous / Self - Paced Learning Track Is Also Available
Homework/Practice Sheet Amount: 50+ sheets of practice provided TOTAL (a doable amount of 5-7 sheets a week)
Hours of "Immersion" (listening & reading exercises) : approximately 5 hours

WHEN WILL THE SEMESTER BEGIN?
Course Start Date: Friday, 4th of October, 2024
Course End Date: Sunday, 1st of December, 2024
Class Times: n/a for self-paced
Fridays > Class 1: 1:00 pm ~ 1:45 pm EST
Fridays > Class 2: 4:30 pm ~ 5:15 pm EST (same content, just a different time)
Sundays > 1:00 pm ~ 1:45 pm EST
*you don't have to be at every meeting, especially if the time is conflicting for you
Time Commitment :
2.5 - 3 hours of learning time a week
Weekly class - 1,5 hours total (45 mins, 2x a week)
Weekly recap - 30 minutes total (at least 10 mins, 3x a week)
(Weekly recap refers to completing the practice sheets / homework provided)
Independent study - 30 minutes total - at least 15 mins, 2x a week
(Independent study is time spent outside the lesson doing listening and reading activities I will provide, but is optional)
Self-Guided lessons - 30 minutes total per 6 lessons
(We won't be meeting for all 22 lessons, sometimes I will make a lesson or send you a video or a few videos of a concept for you to learn)

Here's A Week by Week Breakdown: (information is subject to change before the course starts) The concepts/grammar we will learn are those often used in conversations. WEEK ONE: review the basics (beginner) concepts Lesson 1: Basics Review (sentence structure, particles usage, nouns & verbs) Lesson 2: Basics Review (negations, numbers, times, dates, etc.) WEEK TWO: Lesson 3: ~ㄴ/은 지 Y 됐다= I Have Been Doing X for Y Lesson 4: -는 바람에 = as a result of, due to, because of from here on we will begin speaking practice WEEK THREE: Lesson 5: 던/았/었던 - describing nouns with adjectives and verbs in the PAST Lesson 6: Group Speaking Exercise Additional Lesson: A/V-아/어야겠다 - I’ll have to do.., must.. *additional lessons are lessons i will send to you outside of the class for you to learn independently WEEK FOUR: Lesson 7: Group Speaking Exercise Additional Lesson: ~기도 하고 ~기도 하다 - stressing 2 actions Lesson 8: (으)ㄹ/(으)ㄴ/는지- an uncertain clause OR confirming information WEEK FIVE: Additional Lesson: (으)ㄹ걸요 = probably Lesson 9: Group Speaking Exercise Lesson 10: (으)ㄹ지도 모르다 and (으)ㄹ 수도 있다 = may, might, and saying “maybe (아마도 too) WEEK SIX: Lesson 11: Group Speaking Exercise Lesson 12: the many usages of 도록 Additional Lesson: -기는요 WEEK SEVEN: Lesson 13: 더라도 = even if Lesson 14: Group Speaking Exercise Additional Lesson: 아/어/해도 = regardless of, no matter how WEEK EIGHT: Additional Lesson: 다가 Lesson Lesson 15: 다(가) 보니(까) = After doing.. I realized.. Lesson 16: Group Speaking Exercise As you can see, some lessons we will do speaking exercises (daily conversation, roleplay scenarios, etc.) instead of learning grammar Besides the lesson content, there will also be "Independent study" tasks each week. I may have you learn things we don't have time to go over during the class OR reading and listening activities to improve your comprehension.
