안녕하세요~ Welcome to or welcome back to another blog. I'm Koreanstudyjunkie! Today's blog is a short Korean story and there are questions about the story to test how much you understood.
I even included a vocabulary list of all the words used in the story below as well as the English translation at the very bottom. Enjoy :)
STORY:
저의 부인은 임신 중이었습니다. 저의 부인과 저는 아들 하나, 딸 하나를 가지고 있었습니다.
우리는 또 다른 아기를 가지게 되어 매우 기뻤습니다. 새 아기는 남자였습니다.
그러나 우리는 아기에게 어떤 이름을 주어야 할 지 몰랐습니다. 우리는 우리의 부모님께 묻기로 결정했습니다.
우리의 부모님은 우리에게 몇 가지 아이디어를 주셨습니다. 몇 가지 아이디어는 다른 것들보다 더 좋았습니다.
저의 부인과 저는 아기를 ‘이단'이라고 불렀습니다. 우리는 아기가 이름에 행복해하기를 바랐습니다.

1.) 그들은 그들의 부모님께 아기의 이름에 대해 묻기로 결정합니다.
> They decide to ask their parents about the baby's name.
2.) 그들의 부모는 그들에게 몇 가지 아이디어를 줍니다.
> Their parents gave them a few ideas.
3.) 아니요, 모든 아이디어가 좋지는 않았습니다. 몇 가지 아이디어가 다른 것들보다 더 좋았습니다.
> No, they didn't like all of the Ideas. They liked some ideas more than others.
4.) 그들은 아기를 ‘이단'이라고 불렀습니다.
> They called the baby 'Lee Dan'.
5.) 그들은 아기가 이름에 행복해하기를 바랐습니다.
> They hoped that the baby likes his name.
English Translation:
My wife was pregnant. My wife and I had a son and a daughter.
We were very happy to have another baby. The new baby was a boy.
But we didn't know what name to give the baby. We decided to ask our parents.
Our parents gave us some ideas. Some ideas were better than others.
My wife and I called the baby "Lee Dan."
We wanted the baby to be happy with his name.
