A-(으)ㄴ 만큼, N만큼, V-는 만큼 grammar = as much as, to the extent, like

Usage: Indicating an action/state is similar or equal to another.


Example Sentences:


누구나 일한 만큼 월급을 받아야 해요.

Everyone should be paid as much as they work.


운동하는 만큼 건강해져요.

You get healthier as much as you exercise.


돈을 많이 내는 만큼 좋은 서비스를 받을 수 있을 거예요.

You should receive good service as much as you pay for it.


저 뒤에 있는 사람도 들을 수 있을 만큼 크게 말해 주세요.

Please speak loud enough (to the extent) that the person behind can hear you well.


나도 형만큼 잘할 수 있으니까 걱정하지 마세요.

Please don’t worry because I can do it as well as my big brother.


열심히 공부한 만큼 좋은 점수를 받을 거예요.

You will get a good mark as much as you study hard.


딸이 엄마만큼 예뻐요.

The daughter is pretty as much as her mom.



HOW TO CONJUGATE


Adjective + (으)ㄴ


Ends in a consonant - 은

Ends in a vowel - ㄴ


예쁜 만큼 (as pretty as)

좋은 만큼 (as good as)



Verbs

Present tense - 는 만큼

Past tense - (으)ㄴ 만큼

Future tense - (으)ㄹ 만큼



Base Verb - 먹다


먹는 만큼

Used when the action is general or ongoing/universal.


먹은 만큼

Used when comparing something that has already happened.


먹을 만큼

Used when referring to something possible, likely, or potential.


Meaning: as much as you eat
