잃어버린 여왕의 목걸이 | The Queen’s Lost Necklace

BEGINNER (A1-A2)

옛날에 큰 왕국이 있었어요. 왕, 여왕, 공주, 그리고 기사 레온이 궁전에서 살았어요. 어느 날 아침, 여왕이 목걸이를 찾았어요. 하지만 목걸이가 없었어요.

"제 목걸이가 없어요!" 여왕이 슬프게 말했어요.

왕은 많이 놀랐어요. "누가 목걸이를 가져갔을까요?"

왕은 기사들에게 말했어요. "목걸이를 찾으세요." 기사들은 궁전을 다 찾았어요. 하지만 목걸이를 찾지 못했어요.

공주가 왕에게 말했어요. "제가 목걸이를 찾고 싶어요."

왕은 걱정했어요. "밖은 위험해요."

그래서 왕은 기사 레온에게 말했어요. "공주와 같이 가세요. 공주를 지켜 주세요."

레온이 대답했어요. "네. 제가 공주를 지키겠습니다." 공주와 레온은 궁전을 떠났어요.

두 사람은 마을에도 갔어요. 숲에도 갔어요. 산에도 갔어요. 많은 사람을 만났어요.

한 할아버지가 말했어요. "검은 망토를 입은 남자를 봤어요."

공주와 레온은 북쪽으로 갔어요. 가는 길에 큰 트롤도 만났어요. 두 사람은 함께 싸웠어요. 그리고 트롤을 이겼어요.

며칠 후, 두 사람은 오래된 성에 갔어요. 성 안에 작은 상자가 있었어요. 공주가 상자를 열었어요.

상자 안에 여왕의 목걸이가 있었어요. "드디어 찾았어요!"

그때 한 남자가 나왔어요. "여기까지 왔네요."

공주가 남자를 보고 깜짝 놀랐어요. "삼촌?"

그 남자는 왕의 동생이었어요. 레온이 물었어요.

"왜 목걸이를 가져갔어요?"

왕의 동생이 말했어요. "내가 왕이 되고 싶었어요."

레온이 검을 들었어요. 하지만 왕의 동생은 빨리 도망갔어요.

공주가 말했어요. "괜찮아요. 목걸이를 가져가요."

공주와 레온은 궁전으로 돌아왔어요. 여왕은 목걸이를 보고 아주 기뻤어요. 왕은 동생이 범인이라는 것을 알고 많이 슬펐어요.

며칠 후 큰 축제가 시작됐어요. 사람들은 춤을 추고 맛있는 음식을 먹었어요. 공주와 레온은 웃었어요.

하지만 멀리 숲속에서 왕의 동생이 혼자 말했어요. "다음에는 꼭 성공할 거예요." 이야기는 아직 끝나지 않았어요.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Long ago, there was a great kingdom. The king, the queen, the princess, and a knight named Leon lived in the palace. One morning, the queen looked for her necklace. But the necklace was gone.

“My necklace is gone!” the queen said sadly.

The king was very surprised.

“Who could have taken the necklace?”

The king said to the knights,

“Find the necklace.”

The knights searched the entire palace. But they could not find the necklace.

The princess said to the king,

“I want to find the necklace.”

The king was worried.

“It’s dangerous outside.”

So the king said to Knight Leon

“Go with the princess. Please protect her.”

Leon replied,

“Yes. I will protect the princess.”

The princess and Leon left the palace.

The two of them went to the village. They also went to the forest. They even went to the mountains. They met many people.

An old man said,

“I saw a man wearing a black cloak.”

The princess and Leon headed north. On the way, they also encountered a huge troll. The two of them fought together and defeated the troll.

A few days later, they arrived at an old castle. Inside the castle was a small box. The princess opened it.

Inside the box was the queen’s necklace.

“We finally found it!”

Just then, a man appeared.

“So, you made it this far.”

The princess looked at him in shock.

“Uncle?”

The man was the king’s younger brother.

Leon asked,

“Why did you take the necklace?”

The king’s brother replied,

“Because I wanted to become king.”

Leon drew his sword. But the king’s brother quickly ran away.

The princess said,

“It’s okay. Let’s take the necklace back.”

The princess and Leon returned to the palace. The queen was overjoyed when she saw her necklace. The king was deeply saddened when he learned that his own brother was the culprit.

A few days later, the great festival began. The people danced and ate delicious food. The princess and Leon smiled.

But far away in the forest, the king’s brother spoke to himself.

“Next time, I’ll definitely succeed.”

The story was not over yet.

INTERMEDIATE (B1-B2)

왕국에서는 큰 축제를 준비하고 있었다. 그런데 축제를 며칠 앞둔 어느 날, 여왕이 가장 아끼는 목걸이가 궁전에서 없어졌다.

왕은 기사들에게 목걸이를 찾으라고 명령했다. 하지만 아무도 목걸이를 찾지 못했다.

공주는 직접 목걸이를 찾으러 가겠다고 말했다.

"이 목걸이는 어머니께 아주 소중한 물건이에요. 꼭 찾아야 해요."

왕은 걱정했다.

"밖은 위험하니까 혼자 가면 안 된다."

그래서 왕은 가장 믿을 수 있는 기사 레온에게 공주와 함께 가라고 했다.

"공주님을 끝까지 안전하게 지켜라."

레온은 고개를 숙이며 대답했다.

"걱정하지 마십시오. 제가 공주님을 지키겠습니다."

두 사람은 목걸이를 찾기 위해 여행을 시작했다.

처음에는 서로 조금 불편했다. 공주는 레온이 너무 조심한다고 생각했고, 레온은 공주가 위험한 일을 너무 쉽게 생각하는 것 같았다.

하지만 함께 여행하면서 서로를 더 잘 이해하게 되었다.

어느 마을에서는 한 노인이 검은 망토를 입은 남자를 북쪽에서 봤다고 말했다.

숲에서는 이상한 마법사를 만났고, 오래된 다리에서는 큰 트롤과 싸우게 되었다.

두 사람은 서로 도우면서 모든 어려움을 이겨 냈다.

며칠 후, 그들은 버려진 성에 도착했다.

성 안에 있는 오래된 상자를 열어 보니 여왕의 목걸이가 들어 있었다.

공주가 목걸이를 집으려고 하는 순간, 한 남자가 나타났다.

"여기까지 올 줄은 몰랐군."

그 사람은 바로 왕의 동생, 에드먼드였다.

공주는 깜짝 놀라서 물었다.

"삼촌이 왜 목걸이를 훔쳤어요?"

에드먼드는 잠시 웃은 후 말했다.

"나는 왕이 되고 싶었다. 그래서 형을 힘들게 하려고 목걸이를 훔쳤다."

레온은 검을 뽑으며 말했다.

"이제 끝났습니다."

하지만 에드먼드는 미리 준비한 길로 도망쳤다.

레온은 따라가려고 했지만, 공주가 말했다.

"지금은 목걸이를 가져가는 것이 더 중요해요."

두 사람은 목걸이를 가지고 궁전으로 돌아왔다.

여왕은 목걸이를 다시 보게 되어 매우 기뻤다. 하지만 왕은 범인이 자신의 동생이라는 사실을 알고 큰 충격을 받았다.

며칠 후 축제가 시작되었다. 사람들은 모두 즐거운 시간을 보냈지만, 왕은 기사들에게 에드먼드를 계속 찾으라고 명령했다.

공주와 레온은 이번 여행을 통해 서로를 믿게 되었고, 앞으로도 함께 왕국을 지키기로 약속했다.

하지만 숲속 어딘가에서는 에드먼드가 혼자 웃고 있었다.

"다음에는 꼭 성공할 것이다."

The kingdom was busy preparing for a grand festival. But one day, just a few days before the celebration, the queen's most treasured necklace disappeared from the palace.

The king ordered his knights to find the necklace. However, no one was able to find it.

The princess said that she would go and search for it herself.

"This necklace is very precious to my mother. We have to find it."

The king was worried.

"It's dangerous outside. You must not go alone."

So the king told his most trusted knight, Leon, to accompany the princess.

"Protect the princess and keep her safe until the very end."

Leon bowed his head and replied,

"Please don't worry. I will protect the princess."

The two of them set out on a journey to find the necklace.

At first, they felt a little uncomfortable around each other. The princess thought Leon was being overly cautious, while Leon felt that the princess took dangerous situations too lightly.

However, as they traveled together, they gradually came to understand each other better.

In one village, an old man told them that he had seen a man wearing a black cloak heading north.

In the forest, they met a strange wizard, and at an old bridge, they were forced to fight a giant troll.

Working together, they overcame every obstacle they faced.

A few days later, they arrived at an abandoned castle.

When they opened an old chest inside the castle, they found the queen's necklace.

Just as the princess reached out to pick it up, a man appeared.

"I never expected you to make it this far."

It was the king's younger brother, Edmund.

The princess asked in shock,

"Uncle, why did you steal the necklace?"

Edmund smiled for a moment before answering,

"I wanted to become king. So I stole the necklace to make my brother suffer."

Leon drew his sword and said,

"It's over now."

But Edmund escaped along a route he had prepared in advance.

Leon was about to chase after him, but the princess stopped him.

"Right now, taking the necklace back is more important."

The two of them returned to the palace with the necklace.

The queen was overjoyed to have her necklace back. However, the king was deeply shocked to learn that the thief was his own brother.

A few days later, the festival began. Everyone enjoyed the celebration, but the king ordered his knights to continue searching for Edmund.

Through their journey, the princess and Leon learned to trust one another, and they promised to continue protecting the kingdom together.

But somewhere deep in the forest, Edmund laughed to himself.

"Next time, I will definitely succeed."

His plan was far from over.

ADVANCED (B2-C1)

왕국에서는 며칠 후에 열릴 큰 축제를 준비하느라 모두가 바빴다. 그러나 축제를 사흘 앞둔 어느 날 아침, 여왕이 가장 아끼던 에메랄드 목걸이가 궁전 금고에서 감쪽같이 사라지고 말았다.

왕은 즉시 기사들을 불러 범인을 찾으라고 명령했지만, 뚜렷한 단서는 발견되지 않았다. 그러자 공주는 직접 목걸이를 찾아오겠다고 나섰다.

"이 목걸이는 단순한 보석이 아니에요. 어머니께서 할머니에게 물려받으신 소중한 유산이잖아요."

왕은 처음에는 반대했다.

"밖은 위험하다. 궁전에 있는 것이 좋겠다."

하지만 공주의 마음은 이미 굳어 있었다. 결국 왕은 왕국 최고의 기사인 레온에게 공주를 끝까지 지키라고 명령했다.

"공주님께 손끝 하나 다치게 해서는 안 된다."

레온은 고개를 숙이며 대답했다.

"목숨을 걸고 공주님을 지키겠습니다."

두 사람은 단서를 찾기 위해 여러 마을과 숲을 지나 여행을 시작했다.

처음에는 서로 어색했다. 공주는 레온이 너무 규칙만 따르는 사람이라고 생각했고, 레온은 공주가 위험을 너무 가볍게 여긴다고 걱정했다.

하지만 여행을 계속할수록 두 사람은 조금씩 서로를 이해하게 되었다.

산속 마을에서는 한 노인이 수상한 남자가 검은 망토를 입고 북쪽으로 향하는 것을 봤다고 말했다.

숲에서는 정체를 알 수 없는 마법사가 나타나 수수께끼를 내기도 했고, 오래된 다리에서는 거대한 트롤과 싸워야 하기도 했다.

다행히 두 사람은 서로 협력한 덕분에 모든 어려움을 이겨 낼 수 있었다.

며칠 뒤, 그들은 버려진 성에 도착했다.

성 안에는 오래된 상자가 하나 있었고, 그 안에서 여왕의 목걸이를 발견했다.

하지만 목걸이를 집어 드는 순간 누군가가 천천히 박수를 치며 모습을 드러냈다.

"여기까지 올 줄은 몰랐군."

놀랍게도 그는 왕의 친동생인 에드먼드 공작이었다.

공주는 믿을 수 없다는 표정으로 물었다.

"삼촌께서 왜 이런 일을 하신 거죠?"

에드먼드는 씁쓸하게 웃으며 말했다.

"원래 왕이 되어야 했던 사람은 나였다. 하지만 모두가 형만 선택했지. 그 목걸이는 왕실의 상징이야. 그것만 사라지면 형의 권위도 흔들릴 거라고 생각했다."

레온은 검을 뽑으며 말했다.

"더 이상 도망칠 수 없습니다."

그러나 에드먼드는 이미 탈출로를 준비해 두고 있었다.

그는 연막탄을 던진 뒤 어둠 속으로 사라졌다.

레온은 뒤쫓으려 했지만 공주가 그를 막았다.

"목걸이를 되찾은 것이 더 중요해요."

두 사람은 서둘러 궁전으로 돌아왔다.

목걸이를 돌려받은 여왕은 안도의 한숨을 내쉬었고, 왕은 모든 사실을 듣고 깊은 충격을 받았다.

"설마 내 동생이 이런 일을 저지를 줄은 몰랐구나."

며칠 뒤 열린 축제는 예정대로 진행되었지만, 왕은 동생을 찾기 위해 왕국 곳곳에 기사들을 보내기로 했다.

한편 공주와 레온은 이번 모험을 통해 서로를 깊이 신뢰하게 되었고, 앞으로도 함께 왕국을 지키기로 약속했다.

밤하늘에는 축제를 기념하는 불꽃놀이가 아름답게 피어올랐지만, 멀리 숲속 어딘가에서는 에드먼드가 조용히 미소를 짓고 있었다.

Everyone in the kingdom was busy preparing for the grand festival that was to be held in just a few days.

However, one morning, three days before the celebration, the queen's most treasured emerald necklace mysteriously vanished from the palace vault without a trace.

The king immediately summoned his knights and ordered them to find the culprit, but no meaningful clues could be found. At that point, the princess stepped forward and declared that she would retrieve the necklace herself.

"This necklace isn't just a piece of jewelry. It's a precious family heirloom that my grandmother passed down to my mother."

At first, the king objected.

"It's too dangerous outside. You should remain in the palace."

But the princess had already made up her mind. In the end, the king ordered Leon, the kingdom's finest knight, to accompany her and protect her until the very end.

"Not a single hair on the princess's head must be harmed."

Leon bowed respectfully and answered,

"I will protect Her Highness with my life."

The two of them began their journey, traveling through villages and forests in search of clues.

At first, things between them were awkward.

The princess thought Leon cared too much about rules, while Leon worried that the princess underestimated the dangers they faced.

However, the longer they traveled together, the more they gradually came to understand one another.

In a mountain village, an elderly man told them he had seen a suspicious man wearing a black cloak heading north.

In the forest, they encountered a mysterious wizard who challenged them with riddles, and at an ancient bridge, they were forced to battle a gigantic troll.

Fortunately, by working together and relying on each other, they managed to overcome every obstacle in their path.

Several days later, they arrived at an abandoned castle.

Inside the castle, they discovered an old chest, and within it lay the queen's necklace.

But the moment the princess reached out to pick it up, someone slowly emerged from the shadows, applauding.

"I never expected you to make it this far."

To their astonishment, it was Duke Edmund, the king's younger brother.

The princess stared at him in disbelief.

"Uncle... why would you do something like this?"

Edmund gave a bitter smile before answering,

"I was the one who should have become king. But everyone chose my brother instead. That necklace is the symbol of the royal family. I believed that if it disappeared, my brother's authority would crumble with it."

Leon drew his sword.

"There's nowhere left for you to run."

But Edmund had already prepared an escape route. He threw down a smoke bomb and vanished into the darkness.

Leon was about to chase after him, but the princess stopped him. "Recovering the necklace is more important." The two hurried back to the palace.

When the queen received her necklace, she let out a sigh of relief. After hearing the entire story, the king was devastated.

"I never imagined that my own brother would commit such a terrible crime."

A few days later, the festival went ahead as planned. However, the king ordered knights to be dispatched throughout the kingdom to continue searching for his brother.

Meanwhile, through their adventure, the princess and Leon developed a deep trust in one another and promised to continue protecting the kingdom together.

Fireworks blossomed brilliantly across the night sky in celebration of the festival.

But somewhere deep within the distant forest, Edmund quietly smiled to himself.

"Next time... I will not fail."

His true plan had only just begun.
