하루 vs 일 vs 날 | How to say "day" in Korean

하루

하루 is 24 hours/a day.

It’s used to talk about the duration of one day only. If you wanted to say 2, 3, 4, etc. days as in 48, 72, 96, etc. hours, you would say 이틀, 사흘, 나흘, etc. This uses pure/native Korean numbers.

Example sentences:

오늘 하루 어땠어요? - how was today?

We can't say 두 하루, 세 하루... It would be like saying two one day, three one day. Instead, there are different words that must be use$ it goes like: 하루, 이틀, 사흘, 나흘, 닷세, 엿세, 이레, 여드레, 나흐레, 열흘, 열하루, etc.

일
