안녕하세요 리더님! Koreanstudyjunkie에서 Junie입니다. In this lesson, i’m giving you a list of Stranger Things related vocab and phrases. I’m a big fan of the show and now that the finale is here - I think it’s a good time for it!
General & Show-Related Vocab
Stranger Things → 기묘한 이야기 — literally means “Strange Story,” the show’s official Korean title.
Season → 시즌 — e.g. 시즌 1, 시즌 2.
Episode → 에피소드
Netflix → 넷플릭스
Character → 등장인물 or 캐릭터
Main character → 주인공
Villain → 악당
Actor / Actress → 배우
Supernatural & Sci-Fi Vocab
Supernatural → 초자연적인 — means “beyond natural.”
Psychic power → 초능력
Telekinesis → 염력 — moving things with your mind.
Mind control → 정신 지배
Alternate dimension / Upside Down → 다른 차원 or 뒤집힌 세계
Monster → 괴물
Portal / Gate → 문 or 차원문
Darkness → 어둠
Shadow creature → 그림자 괴물
Experiment / Lab → 실험, 실험실

Small town → 작은 마을
Police officer → 경찰관
Sheriff → 보안관
High school → 고등학교
Middle school → 중학교

Useful Phrases for Talking About the Show
Have you seen Stranger Things? → 기묘한 이야기 봤어요?
아니요, 아직 안 봤어요. → I haven’t seen it yet.
본 적이 없어요 → I haven’t watched it before (ever).
네, 봤어요. → Yes, I have.
My favorite character is Eleven. → 제가 제일 좋아하는 캐릭터는 일레븐이에요.
제가 제일 좋아하는 캐릭터는 … → My favorite character is..
제일 좋아하는 캐릭터는 누구예요? → Who’s your favorite character?
I love the 80s vibe. → 80년대 분위기가 너무 좋아요.
That scene gave me goosebumps! → 그 장면 진짜 소름 돋았어요!
